Last Minute Campsite is operated by DeepAnchor Studio, LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and alert service, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last Minute Campsite monitors campground availability and tells you when a campsite opens. We do not book campsites for you. We do not place campsites in carts or hold them. We do not complete checkout on your behalf. You finish your reservation directly with the reservation provider, such as Recreation.gov or a state park reservation system.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Email address
- Phone number, if you choose to receive text alerts
- Account information
- Authentication information
- The campgrounds and campsites you watch
- Trip dates
- Preferences such as park, campground, region, map area, equipment, and filters
- Notification preferences
- Support messages you send us
- Voluntary responses, such as telling us whether you got a campsite
If you joined our launch list before the service opened, we collected your email address, the time you signed up, the page you signed up from, and referral or UTM information.
Payment information
Stripe processes card payments, and DeepAnchor Studio, LLC is the merchant of record. We do not store complete payment card numbers. We may receive billing records from Stripe, such as a customer ID, transaction status, plan, subscription status, billing dates, and payment status.
Information collected automatically
- IP address
- Browser and device information
- Timestamps
- Pages and features used
- Referral or UTM information
- Authentication and security logs
- Error and performance data
Alert and booking link activity
When we send an alert and when you click a booking link, we may record:
- Alert ID
- User ID
- Campground Search ID
- Reservation provider
- Campground or facility
- Campsite
- The dates associated with the alert
- Click timestamp
- User agent
- Any booking outcome you tell us voluntarily
Clicking a booking link does not tell us whether your reservation was completed. The reservation happens on the third party reservation provider's site, and we do not see the result.

Email, Text Messages, and Browser Notifications
You can unsubscribe from our marketing email at any time using the link in the message. We may still send you service or transactional email when it is needed for your account, your Campground Searches, your alerts, or your billing.
Text messages
Text alerts require your separate express opt in. You are not required to agree to text messages in order to buy anything from us, and accepting this policy or our Terms does not by itself give consent to receive text messages.
Message frequency varies based on the Campground Searches you set and the availability we find. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving text messages. Reply HELP for help.
You can opt in to text alerts, and read the full program terms, on our text alerts page. We use your phone number to send the alerts you asked for. We do not sell phone numbers, and we do not share phone numbers or text message consent data with third parties for their own marketing.
Opting out of text messages does not cancel your account or your paid plan. We use text messages for the alerts you requested, not for unrelated promotional messaging.
Browser notifications
If you enable browser notifications, your browser gives us a subscription that lets us send alerts to that browser. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser settings or in your notification settings with us.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies or similar browser technologies that are necessary to sign you in, keep the service secure, remember preferences, and operate features you request.
We use Mixpanel for product analytics. It keeps a random identifier in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie, and does not record your IP address. Once you are signed in, it knows you by our internal account identifier, never by your email address or phone number. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, the analytics in your browser send nothing.
We will update this policy if we add advertising technologies or other analytics that require additional disclosure or choices.
Do Not Track and Online Tracking
Some browsers offer a Do Not Track setting or similar privacy signal. Last Minute Campsite does not currently use third-party advertising technologies designed to track your activity over time across unrelated websites for targeted advertising. The service works the same with Do Not Track on or off; the one difference is that our product analytics in your browser send nothing while it is on.
Third-party service providers may receive information as described in this policy when they provide services to us. If our online tracking practices change, we will update this policy and provide any choices required by applicable law.
How We Disclose Information
We share information with service providers that perform functions for us, and only as needed for them to do that work. These include:
- Stripe, for payment processing
- Twilio, for text messages
- Mixpanel, for product analytics: which pages are visited, which steps of signing up and searching are completed, and when an alert's booking link is opened, without your IP address
- Email delivery providers, for sending email
- Microsoft Azure, for hosting, infrastructure, databases, security, and related services
- Authentication providers, which may receive the information needed to sign you in, including Google when you choose Google sign in
- Professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers
- Government or law enforcement authorities, where legally required
Not every provider receives every category of information. We disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the service they provide.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell phone numbers or text message consent information.
Third Party Reservation Sites
Last Minute Campsite links to third party campground reservation services. Those services have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.
We do not receive your reservation system password, and we never ask for it. We do not receive confirmation from the reservation provider that you completed a booking. If you tell us voluntarily that you got a campsite, we may keep that feedback and use it as described in this policy.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide the service
- Maintain required business records
- Maintain consent records
- Handle billing
- Resolve disputes
- Prevent fraud
- Enforce our agreements
- Comply with law
When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we delete it or take steps to make it no longer identify you.
If you delete your account, we delete your personal information and keep only history that no longer identifies you, with one exception: records of your consent to text messages, and of the text messages we sent you, are kept for four years after deletion, with your phone number stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form. We keep them to be able to show that we had your consent.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us or that we hold.
Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can:
- Update your account information
- Change your notification settings
- Unsubscribe from marketing email
- Stop text messages by replying STOP
- Turn off browser notifications in your browser settings or your notification settings with us
- Pause or cancel paid services where that option is available on your plan
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by writing to hello@lastminutecampsite.com
We may need to keep some records after a deletion request for legal, security, billing, fraud prevention, or recordkeeping purposes. If we cannot honor part of a request, we will tell you why.
California Privacy
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide additional rights concerning your personal information.
If you are a California resident: the categories of personal information we collect are described in the Information We Collect section, our purposes for using it are described in the How We Use Information section, and the categories of service providers that receive it are described in the How We Disclose Information section. We do not sell personal information. You can contact us at hello@lastminutecampsite.com about privacy rights that apply to you.
Children
Last Minute Campsite is intended for users 18 and older. Individuals under 18 should not create an account or purchase paid services. If you believe we collected information from someone under 18 through an account, contact hello@lastminutecampsite.com so we can review it and delete it as appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or legally required.
